Group Accommodation Cancellation Policy

A booking is considered a group when it consists of five (5) or more rooms.
The cancellation policy for groups is 10 weeks.


Cancellation Fees:

Up to 10 weeks before arrival: Free of charge (except for two rooms which can be held without charge until 4 weeks prior).

  • 10 to 8 weeks before arrival: 25% of the total invoice for cancelled rooms.
  • 8 to 6 weeks before arrival: 50% of the total invoice for cancelled rooms.
  • 6 to 4 weeks before arrival: 75% of the total invoice for cancelled rooms.
  • 4 weeks or less before arrival: 100% charge.


Holding Two Rooms Policy:

At 10 weeks prior, all rooms except two (2) NN rooms may be released free of charge anytime up to 72 hours upon arrival.

  • If cancelled less than 72 days before arrival, a 100% fee applies.


Individual Accommodation Cancellation Policy

  • An individual booking consists of 1-4 rooms.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 7 days before arrival.
  • If cancelled within less than 7 days, a 100% cancellation fee applies.


Dinner & Food-Related Booking Policy

  • All dinner bookings must be made with a minimum 3-week notice.
  • Cancellations within 3 week upon arrival, will incur a 25% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations within less than 1 week will incur a 50% cancellation fee.


Special Dietary Requirements:

  • All changes (allergies, special dietary needs, etc.) must be communicated at least 48 hours prior via email to veitingar@hotelhofn.is or by phone at +354 478 1240.
  • Last-minute changes must be submitted before 12:00 on the day of arrival. We cannot guarantee any adjustments after this time.
  • Guests can always order from the À la carte menu at their own cost.


Luggage Handling Policy

  • Booking Notice: Luggage handling must be booked at least 72 hours in advance and must include:
  • Group arrival date & time
  • Group departure date & time
  • Group size
  • Cancellation Notice: Cancellations must be made with at least 72 hours’ notice to avoid cancellation fees.


Force Majeure Cancellation Policy

  • A 30% cancellation fee of the total invoice applies in force majeure cases.
  • However, this fee can be avoided by rescheduling the booking. The new booking can be used for the same group/guest or a different group/guest.


Group Arrival Coordination

  • The tour leader/guide must contact the reception upon arrival for updates on services and arrival times.
  • Any last-minute changes to the menu must be communicated before 12:00 on the day of arrival.
